Islamic Religious Studies is one of the main subjects administered to primary school students in various parts of the world. The topic is mandatory in the discipline category and is crucial in imparting knowledge of the Islamic faith, principles, beliefs, and practices.
The Islamic Religious Studies Scheme of Work for Primary 4 is categorized into three terms, and each term discusses different topics. The first term has a couple of topics such as belief in angels, Suratul Fil, shirk , Suratul Qadr, belief in the revealed books, and the life of Prophet Muhammed.
On the other hand, the second term has topics like Suratul Fathiah, Asmaullahil-Husna , Suratul Humazah, Farahid and Sunna of salat, and Suratul Taubal. The third term has topics like Suratul Ikhlas, Faraid and Sunnah of Salat, Suratul Asr, Suratu Takaathur, As-Sawm, Khulafahu Rashidun Abu Bakr , Khulafahu Rashidun Umar , Khulafahu Rashidun Uthman , and Khulafahu Rashidun Ali.
The first term of the scheme of work for Primary 4 Islamic Religious Studies is targeted to introduce learners to the fundamental principles of the Islamic faith. This includes angels and the Tale of Suratul Fil and shirks in Suratul Qadr. Besides, part II of this term is focused on faith in revealed books, Prophethood, the life of Prophet Muhammed, and Prophet’s teachings. Learners shall have a mid-term break to refresh from their studies.
The second term of the scheme of work for Primary 4 Islamic Religious Studies aims to ensure that students have a deep understanding of the Islamic religion. The learners will come to know about Suratul Fathiah, which is one of the significant prayers recited in Islam.
The students will also learn about the Asmaullahil Husna, which are the names of Allah and their meanings. Suratul Humazah, which teaches against backbiting the believers, Farahid and Sunna of salat-which are the rules when praying and knowing about Suratul Taubal shall also be taught.
The third term of the scheme of work for Primary 4 Islamic Religious Studies is about the good conduct and Lifestyle of Rashidun Caliphs, the conditions of the prayer and the Suratul Ikhlas that is one of the most important prayers in Islam.rtant prayers in Islam.
Furthermore, they will come to understand the Faraid and Sunnah of Salat, the Suratul Asr which shows the importance of time and the Suratu Takaathur that depicts the competition for gain in this world. They will further be taught about the As-Sawm or fasting and the Khulafahu Rashidun which identifies the rightly guided caliphs who succeeded over the Holy Prophet Muhammed .
