The Federal University Wukari (FUWUKARI), located in Taraba State was established in 2011 by President Goodluck Jonathan with the aim of improving the access to tertiary education in Nigeria.
Before the establishment of the university, the Federal Ministry of Education had earlier requested the addition of 44 more tertiary institutions nationwide, which FUWUKARI was among the first 9 university-approved
The State Government donated the Wukari Campus of Taraba State Polytechnic to the Federal Government for the take-off of the university, the campus houses the School of Administration and Business Studies.
An aggressive staff recruitment drive, renovation of inherited facilities, construction of additional structures, and purchase of equipment, furniture, and fittings began to prepare for the absorption of the University’s pioneer students in September 2011.
According to Webometrics Federal University Wukari was ranked the 87th-best University in Nigeria in 2020
The university also offers courses like Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, English, and Sociology. The university also offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills for their chosen discipline.

List Of FUWUKARI Programmes
Like other Nigerian institutions the Federal University, Wukari runs academic programs like Bachelor’s degrees, Master’s degrees, and Doctoral programmes.
The Bachelor’s degree programme typically lasts four years and covers disciplines like arts, sciences, engineering, business, education, and social sciences.
The Master’s degree programs require one to two years of full-time study and may include coursework, research, and a thesis project.
