The Federal University Otuoke (FUOTUOKE) was established in Nigeria in 2011, the university is located in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

After the establishment of the university in 2011, the university began it academic activities in 2012 with two faculties; the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The university started operation with eleven programs including; English and Communication Studies, History and International Relations, Accounting and Finance, Economics and Development Studies, Sociology and Strategic Studies, and Biochemistry.

The aims of the university is to be a world-class institution, inculcating intellectual and personal growth, promoting sustainable development, and contributing ethically to the nation.

FUO is equipped with spacious classrooms, modern laboratories, e-library facilities, and a quality ICT centre. The university staff are dedicated to teaching, learning, research, and community service, hosting seminars, retreats, and conferences in a peaceful academic environment.

The university is well known for providing an active social life for students and graduates, currently, the institution has ten Faculties and fifty-two accredited programs with the aim of preparing their students for the public and private sectors, utilizing their entrepreneurial skills effectively.

The institution offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The university has the following faculties; the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Management Sciences, the Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Each of the listed faculty offers various programmes that prepare students for careers in their respective disciplines.

List Of FUOTUOKE Programmes

Like other universities in Nigeria, FUOTUOKE also offers academic programmes, including Bachelor’s Degree Programmes, Master’s Degree Programmes, Doctoral (Ph.D.) Programmes, Professional and Continuing Education Programmes, and Specialized Training Programmes.

The Bachelor’s Degree Programmes are undergraduate programmes ranging within four to seven years based on the courses you applied for, in this programme the institution runs a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Engineering degree.

The Master’s Degree Programmes require at least one to two years of full-time study, including coursework, research projects, and internships. The Doctoral Programmes involves independent research and a dissertation, offering a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Apart from the main programmes the university also provides professional programmes like; certificate programs, and continuing education opportunities.
