FUTA

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), was established in 1981 to produce graduates with practical and theoretical knowledge of technologies.

During the establishment of this university, several other universities of technology were established, including the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Federal University of Technology, Abeokuta (FUTAB), FUNAAB, Federal University of Technology Minna, Federal University of Technology Yola, and Federal University of Technology Bauchi.

The University of Technology was ranked eighth and fifth in 2020 and 2022 by Webometrics and World University Rankings.

The Albert Ilemobade Library is located near the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, is a central library in the university. The library was Established in 1982 to serve various fields of study and is open to all senior staff, students, and alumni.

Some of the facilities available for students in this university include; libraries, lecture halls, laboratories, computer centres, Wi-Fi connectivity, sports fields, student hostels, cafeterias, health centres, and auditoriums.
