Week 1: Elements of Design
1. Content: Meaning of elements (lines, colors), listing and uses, illustration skills.
2. Performance Objectives: Explain and list elements, illustrate lines and colors, state uses.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher explains meaning, guides listing, states uses.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners list elements, make drawings using elements.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Drawing books for practice, pictures showing elements of design, pencils for drawing, colors (crayons, paints) for illustrations.
Week 2: Foreign Musical Instruments
1. Content: Identification of instruments (piano, guitar), sound production, categorization.
2. Performance Objectives: Identify and name instruments, differentiate playing methods, categorize them.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher names instruments, demonstrates playing, guides categorization.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners name instruments, demonstrate playing, categorize in groups.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Pictorials of foreign instruments showing piano, guitar, violin, available instruments like recorder for demonstrations.
Week 3: Features of Nigerian Traditional Dance
1. Content: Identification of dances, features (costumes, movements), participation skills.
2. Performance Objectives: Identify traditional dances, state features, participate in dances.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher identifies dances, describes features, guides participation.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners practice and perform dances, discuss features.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Traditional costumes from different ethnic groups, music recordings of traditional songs, open space for dance practice.
Week 4: Care of Environment
1. Content: Meaning of environment, objects in environment, care methods (cleaning, conservation).
2. Performance Objectives: Describe environment, list objects, analyze care methods.

ii. Learning Activities: The learners discuss care methods, create posters on conservation.

Week 5: Principles of Design
1. Content: Meaning of principles (proportion, rhythm), listing and uses, creation skills.
2. Performance Objectives: Explain principles, categorize them, create objects using principles.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher explains meaning, lists principles, demonstrates use.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners categorize principles, create simple designs.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Pencils for drawing, notebooks for note-taking, chalkboards for demonstrations, examples of designed objects showing proportion and balance.
Week 6: Nigerian Musical Instruments and Sounds They Produce
1. Content: Review of instruments, playing and sound production.

Week 7: Mid-Term Break
Mid-term test should be conducted covering all topics from Week 1 to Week 6. Students rest after the assessment.
Week 8: Basic Movements in Dance
1. Content: Steps in dance, meaning of time, space, effort, mood, performance skills.
2. Performance Objectives: Identify steps, state meanings, perform dance.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher identifies steps, explains meanings, guides performance.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners practice movements, perform in groups.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Music recordings for dance practice, open space for movement, mirrors for self-observation during practice.
Week 9: Types of Colours and Texture
1. Content: Listing colors, primary/secondary, color wheel, texture identification.
2. Performance Objectives: List colors, arrange as primary/secondary, draw and paint color wheel.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher lists colors, explains arrangement, guides wheel creation.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners arrange colors, paint wheel, feel textures.

Week 10: Songs/Music with Nigerian Identity

ii. Learning Activities: The learners sing songs, create simple tunes.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Audio recordings of Nigerian songs by composers like Fela Kuti, simple instruments for music creation.
Week 11: Creating a Play with Themes: Honesty, Integrity, Right Attitude to Work
1. Content: Short play on themes, performance skills.
2. Performance Objectives: Present short play on themes.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher guides script creation, rehearses play.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners write and perform play in groups.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Scripts for reference, props for performance, costumes for characters.
Week 12: Examination
The examination for the second term should start. Students demonstrate understanding of all content covered from Week 1 to Week 11.
Week 13: Examination, Marking & Vacation
Examination should be concluded together with marking and recording. Vacation follows once all activities have been achieved.
