Week 1-4: Shapes
1. Content (Knowledge and Skill: Knowledge: 1. Meaning of shapes. 2. Names of shapes. 3. Types of shapes. 4. Characteristics of shapes 5. Constructing shapes. Skills: Construction of shapes using papers.
To cover this, use objects to show shapes. Let kids construct with paper. Explain characteristics simply.
2. Performance Objectives: 1. identify the shapes of things in the classroom, home and school; 2. group things according to their shapes; 3. describe characteristic properties of various shapes; 4. construct different shapes with sticks, paper and wires.
3. Learning Activities: This is what the teacher and the students will do during the lesson
i. Teacher Activities: Guide pupils to engage in class discussion to name things according to their shapes, and describe the properties of various shapes. Organize groups to collect materials of different shapes.

Week 5-6: Living Things
1. Content (Knowledge and Skill: Knowledge: 1. Identification of living things in: · school environment · home immediate community. Skills: Grouping of living things in the environment.
To cover this, take a nature walk. List animals and plants. Group them.
2. Performance Objectives: 1. identify living things in the school environment, home and immediate community; 2. sort things in and around the environment as living things.
3. Learning Activities: This is what the teacher and the students will do during the lesson
i. Teacher Activities: Guide pupils to take nature walk to explore and observe and collect samples of living things in our environment. Lead observation and identification of living things in video clips, charts and pictures. Organize grouping the living things identified as living things in our homes, school, river and bush.

Week 7: Mid-Term Break
Conduct mid term test from week 1 to 6. Set questions on colors, shapes, living things.
Week 8-9: Non -Living Things
1. Content (Knowledge and Skill: Knowledge: 1. Non-Living things in the: · Classroom, · School environment, · Home and · Immediate community. Skills: 1. Collecting and preserving things found in the environment. 2. Classifying non-living things.
To cover this, compare to living. Collect items like rocks. Group by traits.
2. Performance Objectives: 1.identify non-living things in the classroom, school environment, home and immediate community; 2.sort things into groups based on observable characteristics like colour, texture, etc.
3. Learning Activities: This is what the teacher and the students will do during the lesson
i. Teacher Activities: Guide pupils to go on nature work to explore the environment and collect non-living things. Lead identification and naming non-living things in the classroom, school, home and immediate community.

Week 10: Energy
1. Content (Knowledge and Skill: Knowledge: 1.Meaning of energy as exemplified by people doing some 2. Examples of things that use energy. Skills: Walking, jumping, cleaning the school surrounding using manipulative skills.
To cover this, do activities like jumping. Explain with examples. Link to daily life.
2. Performance Objectives: 1. explain the meaning of Energy; 2. give examples of things that use energy; 3. perform activities involving the use of energy.
3. Learning Activities: This is what the teacher and the students will do during the lesson
i. Teacher Activities: Guide pupils to take part in class discussion to state the meaning of energy and give examples of things required to do with energy. Lead participation in exploring the environment to identify things that use energy.

Week 12: Examination
The exam for the term should start.
Questions on shapes, living, energy. Include sorting tasks.
Week 13: Examination, Marking & Vacation
Examination should be concluded together with marking and recording then vacation follows once all have been achieved.
