Week 1: Hardware and Software Faults in Mobile Phones
1. Content: Knowledge of types of hardware and software faults in mobile phones and mobile phone hardware associated problems. Skill development in dismantling handsets and fixing hardware associated faults on mouthpiece, earpiece, memory card, power supply, charging system, and battery.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to state types of hardware and software faults in mobile phones and categorize mobile phone hardware associated problems.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher guides identification of common faults in mobile phones, demonstrates use of diagnostic tools for identifying problems, shows proper techniques for dismantling handsets safely.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners identify hardware and software faults through examination of faulty phones, use appropriate tools to diagnose hardware and software problems, practice fault identification in group settings.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Sample mobile phones with various faults for diagnostic practice, earpiece components for repair exercises, mouthpiece parts, internet-connected devices for researching fault solutions, soldering irons for repair work, precision screwdrivers for dismantling phones, multimeters for electrical testing, and meters for measuring electrical properties.
Week 2: Hardware and Software Faults in Mobile Phones
1. Content: Knowledge of mobile phone software associated problems and fixing faults on hardware. Skill development in dismantling handsets and fixing hardware associated faults on mouthpiece, earpiece, memory card, power supply, charging system, and battery.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to categorize mobile phone software associated problems and fix faults on hardware components including mouthpiece, earpiece, memory card, power supply, charging system, and battery.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher guides group activities in fixing hardware faults, demonstrates proper repair techniques for common hardware problems, provides feedback on student repair work.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners fix hardware associated faults on mouthpiece, earpiece, memory card, power supply, charging system, and battery in groups, practice repair techniques under supervision.

2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to fix faults on software components including operating system, CPU, RAM, and ROM.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher guides fixing of software problems through step-by-step demonstrations, demonstrates functionality tests for verifying successful repairs, provides troubleshooting guidance.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners fix software associated problems on operating system, CPU, RAM, and ROM in groups, carry out functionality tests of the hardware replaced and software fixed, verify repair success through testing.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Sample mobile phones with various faults for diagnostic practice, earpiece components for repair exercises, mouthpiece parts, internet-connected devices for researching fault solutions, soldering irons for repair work, precision screwdrivers for dismantling phones, multimeters for electrical testing, and meters for measuring electrical properties.
Week 4: Concept of Entrepreneurship
1. Content: Knowledge of the meaning of entrepreneurship, benefits of entrepreneurship, and differences between entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs including their types, characteristics, skills, competencies, functions, and factors influencing them.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to explain the meaning of entrepreneurship, intrapreneur, and entrepreneur, discuss the benefits of entrepreneurship, and differentiate between intrapreneur and entrepreneur.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher guides brainstorming sessions on meaning and benefits of entrepreneurship, facilitates internet searches for additional information, leads discussions comparing entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners brainstorm in groups on the meaning and benefits of entrepreneurship, search the internet and other sources for information on differences between entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, participate in comparative discussions.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: ICT devices including computers and tablets for research, workbooks for note-taking and exercises, pictorial books showing various trade areas and businesses, video clips featuring successful entrepreneurs, cardboards and markers for creating presentations and visual aids.
Week 5: Concept of Entrepreneurship
1. Content: Knowledge of challenges of entrepreneurship in Nigeria including funding problems, basic infrastructure deficiencies, and lack of skills and values.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to identify the challenges of entrepreneurship practices in Nigeria.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher leads debate sessions on challenges facing entrepreneurs in Nigeria, provides real-world examples of entrepreneurial challenges, facilitates critical discussions.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners debate on the challenges of entrepreneurship practices in Nigeria, research current entrepreneurial challenges, share perspectives on how challenges affect business development.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: ICT devices including computers and tablets for research, workbooks for note-taking and exercises, pictorial books showing various trade areas and businesses, video clips featuring successful entrepreneurs, cardboards and markers for creating presentations and visual aids.
Week 6: Concept of Money
1. Content: Knowledge of the meaning and evolution of money and uses of money.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to explain the meaning and origin of money and discuss the uses of money.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher guides brainstorming sessions on meaning, origin, and uses of money, provides historical context for money development, facilitates group discussions.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners brainstorm in groups on the meaning, origin, and uses of money, discuss practical applications of money in daily life, share understanding of money’s importance.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Samples of local currencies in different denominations for examination, samples of piggy banks to illustrate saving methods, cardboard paper for designing savings cards, savings charts for tracking financial progress, and digital devices for research and presentations.
Week 7: Mid-Term Break
Mid-term test should be conducted covering content from Week 1 to Week 6. Students should demonstrate understanding of fault diagnosis and repair, entrepreneurship concepts, and money basics. The break provides time for assessment, feedback, and rest before continuing with the second half of the term.
Week 8: Concept of Money
1. Content: Knowledge of saving money including its meaning, importance, and methods, and sources of funding for GSM start-up including personal and family sources.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to state the importance and methods of saving money and describe the sources of funding for GSM repairs start-up.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher leads debate sessions on importance and methods of saving money, guides online searches for information on funding sources, facilitates practical exercises in record-keeping.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners debate on the importance and methods of saving money, design savings cards and demonstrate how to carefully record their savings, search online for information on sources of funding for GSM repairs start-up.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: Samples of local currencies in different denominations for examination, samples of piggy banks to illustrate saving methods, cardboard paper for designing savings cards, savings charts for tracking financial progress, and digital devices for research and presentations.
Week 9: Review Week (Topics 4-6)
1. Content: Consolidation of fault diagnosis and repair, entrepreneurship concepts, and money management concepts.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to fix simple faults and explain entrepreneurship basics clearly.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher reviews through practical demonstrations and discussions, facilitates group activities on repair and business concepts, assesses student understanding.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners participate in fault-fixing groups, engage in debates on entrepreneurship challenges, practice diagnostic and repair skills.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: All resources from weeks 1 through 6 and 8 including faulty mobile phones, repair tools, ICT devices, workbooks, currency samples, and piggy banks.
Week 10: Review Week (Topics 4-6)
1. Content: Consolidation of fault diagnosis and repair, entrepreneurship concepts, and money management concepts.
2. Performance Objectives: Students should be able to discuss money uses and sources comprehensively.
3. Learning Activities:
i. Teacher Activities: The teacher facilitates group activities on saving and funding, provides practical examples of financial management, reviews key concepts.
ii. Learning Activities: The learners design savings tools and demonstrate their use, discuss challenges facing entrepreneurs, practice explaining money concepts.
4. Teaching and Learning Resources: All resources from weeks 1 through 6 and 8 including faulty mobile phones, repair tools, ICT devices, workbooks, currency samples, and piggy banks.
Week 11: Revision
Revision of all lessons covered during the term should be conducted. Teachers should prepare students for the examination by reviewing fault diagnosis and repair techniques, entrepreneurship concepts, and money management principles. Students should practice practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
Week 12: Examination
The examination for the term should commence. Students will be assessed on their ability to diagnose and repair faults, understanding of entrepreneurship, and knowledge of money management. Both theoretical and practical assessments should be administered.
Week 13: Examination, Marking & Vacation
Examination should be concluded along with marking and recording of results. Teachers should provide feedback to students on their performance. Once all assessment activities have been completed, vacation follows.
